One commentator noted that Beijing — in order to fund the country’s AI ambitions — for two years has encouraged folks to move money out of banks and into stocks.

With the market having topped in the summer, Beijing has reportedly been buying shares to try to stop the bleed, but the effort so far hasn’t worked.

WTI crude oil for December delivery rose as high as $102.56 per barrel earlier Tuesday, but has been slipping throughout the U.S.
